Content writing for charity website/publications

Writing, updating, reviewing and editing 19 pages of detailed and sensitive online content for Diabetes UK. This included conducting SEO research and desk-based user research to ensure the pages were optimised and relevant for the audience, as well clearly written to convey complicated health and practical topics (e.g. how to obtain insurance when you have diabetes) to a wide audience.

I also managed the complex review and editing process, working with multiple stakeholders to ensure accuracy of content.

I had also previously worked on re-developing the charity's core print publications for people with type 2  and type 1 diabetes.

This involved review, editing and rewrite of the booklets to reduce and refine content, increasing accessibility and relevance for the audience. Alongside conducting SEO and user research/testing, as well as optimising the corresponding webpages.

Feedback from Isobel Sims, Publications Officer, Diabetes UK

“Anneliese worked with us on a big rebrand and refresh of one of our most popular printed health information guides, as well as carrying out user testing and advising on SEO for the corresponding web content. Anneliese was extremely professional, punctual and helpful and had a great network of existing contacts to draw from for this project. We're really pleased with the result and have had great feedback that the guide is now clearer, easier to understand and adheres to plain English standards much more closely. Really looking forward to working with Anneliese on the next guide in this project and hopefully collaborating again in the future!”
